CIE-Group Announces Racing Bike Competition Winner

CIE–Group has announced the winner of its annual competition to win an HDBaseT/UHD-inspired road-racing bike.

Congratulations are due to Marc Maskrey of AV integrator Cinos, who was awarded his prize at the Lee Valley Velodrome, the home of track cycling in London and venue of the Olympic track competition. Marc joined members of CIE’s ‘HDBaseTEAM’ Charity Cycle Team and sponsor CYP UK to be presented with his full race-spec, team branded professional road bike.

The competition was launched by UK AV distributor CIE-Group and AV technology brand CYP, and was open to all attendees of their 14 UK-wide HDBaseT Training Academies throughout 2015. Over the course of the year, attending delegates plus visitors to CYP's booth at ISE 2015 were automatically entered into the competition to win this customised, carbon fibre bike. Marc, who is project engineer at Cinos, attended the HDBaseT Academy in Nottingham back in November.

"I attended the HDBaseT Academy to pick up more information on HDMI signal transmission. You can look up information online, but it doesn't always sink in; so being there in the room, being able to ask questions and get instant feedback was very useful to me,” Marc said. “When I attended the training course it was to pick up information and I didn't give the prize a second thought until I received a call from Martin [Featherstone, CYP Product Manager for CIE). I thought the call was a follow-up from the training and he told me I'd won the bike! After a busy, hard Friday at work, it made my week!"

The HDBaseT Expert Installer program was launched in 2014 and has already trained more than 3,000 delegates.  The courses cover HDBaseT technology principles, installation advice and best practice, product certification and interoperability, and include hands-on tutorial and comprehensive demonstration.

2016 sees CIE-Group collaborating with the HDBaseT Alliance to bring their official HDBaseT Installer Expert Program to the UK professional AV audience, with the first three Infocomm-accredited free courses to be take place in Nottingham, Farnborough and Leeds on the 19th, 20th and 21st of April.

This year’s racing bike competition is now open to all 2016 attendees.
