Once again, featuring one of the largest stands at the show, Crestron is making big announcements at ISE. DM 3.0 will make its global debut at ISE, introducing new 4K transmitters and receivers, 4K and streaming input and output cards, distribution amplifiers, DM Ultra Cable, and the world’s only 4K/60 scaler. Crestron will also showcase its game-changing home automation app, Crestron Pyng, which enables whole house setup of lights, shades, thermostats, and more directly from an an iPad. Here is a look at several new innovations Crestron will showcase at ISE: DM 3.0 DM 3.0, the latest generation of DigitalMedia, is the only single platform to meet all of the requirements of today’s video distribution systems. Thanks to uncompressed bit-for-bit 4K/60 distribution and scaling, integrators can deliver brilliant razor-sharp images with smooth motion. Streaming AV leverages Ethernet infrastructure to deliver content anywhere on the network. World’s first and only 4K/60 Hz scaler The new 4K DigitalMedia Receiver & Room Controller w/Scaler (DM-RMC-4K-SCALER-C) can convert any resolution and frame rate to any other resolution and frame rate, up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hz. Now, integrators and customers can get the most out of the latest 4K displays by utilizing their full 60 Hz frame rate for 1080p and 4K content alike. It is powered by an exclusive scaler chip, developed in-house by Crestron. Other AV companies simply don’t have this capability. Using CEC, many devices can be controlled right through their HDMIconnections, eliminating the need for serial cables or IR emitters. Available in both black and white, both devices utilize a standard electrical box for tidy, discreet installation. What’s more, homeowners are empowered to make changes to scenes and settings right from the app with no risk of impairing system performance. ISE will mark the EMEA launch of Pyng, complete with a full demonstration of all the powerful homeowner and integrator benefits. “The Pyng platform transforms home automation set up for technology integrators,” said Evan Ackmann, Technology Manager at Crestron. “Pyng makes the easy stuff, such as lights, thermostats, and audio, actually easy. And because it’s a Crestron solution, anything a homeowner wants is always possible.” Setting up a new home is streamlined by pairing Crestron Pyng accessories with the app. Accessories include Crestron wireless lighting controls, thermostats, occupancy sensors, keypads, and audio systems; as well as select shading solutions. Unlike home automation apps that control one device, or offer limited, “DIY-level” performance, Crestron Pyng controls the same award-winning Crestron professional products found in the world’s most prestigious homes from TSW touch screens. Any Crestron technology can be easily added to a Crestron Pyng system, including DigitalMedia 4K distribution with custom AV control. Compatibility with the rest of the Crestron product line enables Pyng to listen for commands from any touch screen or remote to recall scenes. Likewise, Pyng triggers events in the AV system.
