All Things Media Ltd have postponed the EI Live! show and the Smart Building Awards until 19-20 October 2020 due to Covid-19 outbreak.
Due to take place 21-22 April at the Farnborough Exhibition Centre, organisers have taken the decision to move the show to later this year to protect exhibitors and visitors.
This announcement comes less than a week after
Pulse-Eight pulled out of exhibiting at the show due to coronavirus.
David Kitchener, managing director of All Things Media Ltd said: “I have now assessed the situation around coronavirus and I firmly believe that as a responsible event organiser, it is best to postpone EI Live! 2020 until October 17th and 18th as build days and 19th and 20th as the show days.”
According to the organisers, pre-registrations were up on last year and organisers are looking at the date change in a positive light to increase these further.
Kitchener commented: “The good news is that moving the show to October this year gives us more time to increase the size and footprint of EI Live! even further, and it gives us more time to put more visitor attractions in place and also increase the visitor offering across the show.”
As a spin off from the show, the company will be launching ‘AV Tech Talks’, which will be videos featuring all of the original content that was originally planned to be presented in EI Live!’s Technical Theatre in April.
‘AV Tech Talks’ will be a new, regular feature under the EI Live! brand but organisers have assured they will still have the Technical Theatre in October with more original content.
The Smart Building Awards, which traditionally takes place on the evening of the first day of the show has also naturally been postponed alongside the EI Live!, and will now take place on the evening of 19 October.
