ILLUMINOTRONICA 2018 heading for Bologna

ILLUMINOTRONICA, Italy’s dedicated exhibition for all things system integration and home & building automation, will be returning to BolognaFiere next month.

ILLUMINOTRONICA 2018 is set to take place from Thursday 29 November to 30 Friday and Saturday 1 December, 2018, at the Bologna exhibition centre. The event will showcase the latest in integrated electrical systems, home & building automation systems, lighting systems, audio and video technologies and surveillance, as well as offering training opportunities.

Aimed at an international audience, event organiser, the Italian Association of Electronics Clusters, states the event will have a strong focus on Internet of Things (IoT) technology due to its instrumental role in “making both building automation and smart city markets grow in double digits, leading to a smarter and more comfortable way of living.”

“One of the focus of the Bologna edition of ILLUMINOTRONICA is to rethink, design and manage ‘smart spaces' – the spaces we live in have to be transformed thanks to new technologies and IoT to improve our way of living and working. Places have to be built with a human-centric approach,” says the organiser on the event.

As well as highlighting technologies from exhibiting manufacturers on the show floor, a number of talks, demo areas, networking events and training courses will take place during the event, exploring applications ranging from the smart home to specialist areas like ‘smart’ retail. Specific focuses of training courses will include integrating lighting design, cyber security, energy management and IoT connectivity as part of wider systems.

In collaboration with KNX Italia and EnOcean, the exhibition area will additionally offer some demo panels dedicated to building management and control.

VEM Sistemi, Cisco Systems and Schneider Electric will also collaborate on creating an interactive and immersive experience in ‘Retail 4.0’ demo area exploring how customer experience can be improved with the latest technologies.
