UK distributor, Invision, has reopened its home cinema following multiple lockdowns with a significant sound upgrade.
Originally opened in August 2019, the Reference Home Cinema facility now features a 22-channel system in an 11.4.10 set up of Krix loudspeakers to create a fully immersive home cinema room for dealers and their customers to visit.
A Krix MX-40, the flagship system of the Series MX range, makes up the front sound stage. With a 3-way design, it delivers immense sound pressure levels while maintaining the high levels of soundtrack reproduction.
The bi-wired LCR speakers and the three Krix MEGAPHONIX Flat Centre screen height channels are driven by a Trinnov Amplitude8 power amplifier. A second Amplitude8 amplifier powers the eight Krix MEGAPHONIX Flat surround channels, while the seven overhead channels, made up of Krix PHONIX, are powered by a third Amplitude8 amplifier.
The 18” subwoofers, which are part of the LCR speakers at the front, are driven by AudioControl RS 500 amplifiers. At the back, two Krix CYCLONIX 12 subwoofers are powered by a second pair of AudioControl RS 500 amplifiers.
The cinema also features a Zero Edge Pro cinema screen from Screen Innovations, which uses the Maestro acousticall transparent material. Maestro is a very finely woven material to allow sound to travel through the screen to the viewer without compromising the viewing content. This is paired with a Sony VPL VW790ES Projector, a compact, native 4K resolution home projector with a laser light source delivering true cinematic detail, colour and contrast. Providing a professional cinema picture, the projector combines an advanced laser light source with the same Sony 4K SXRD panel technology that is found in their commercial cinema projectors.
To ensure guests can watch content in comfort, Invision has also installed luxurious fabric cinema seats from Home Cinema Modules.
Visiting the cinema last week, I was able to not only hear the incredible difference, but I could feel it too. Compared to other systems I have experienced, this cinema demonstrated a stronger and more controlled sound, completely immersing the viewer in the content.

The cinema room is just one part of the facility; Midwich Group has officially opened the entire facility, named Innovation House, to dealers, resellers, consultants, as well as end users to experience the brands for themselves. Based in Bracknell in the UK, it is a 50,000sqft experience centre, training and event facility.
Innovation House features the UK’s largest multi-brand experience centre with over 200 solutions from the AV, smart home, unified communication and collaboration, broadcast, and rental markets from 50 global manufacturers.
Also used as a training facility, integrators will be able to attend events and specific training sessions at Innovation House, having the opportunity to test the products and solutions and experience demos.
