LG Electronics (LG) has announced that its webOS Hub platform is now available for third-party gaming monitors.
This expansion follows the company’s previous roll out of the webOS Hub platform to third-party smart TVs and smart monitors due to growing demand for gaming and smart monitors equipped with OTT streaming services.
Expanding usage with high refresh rates, connectivity and document handling
The new platform includes VRR 180Hz to remove stuttering or tearing from gaming monitors. There are various connectivity options available such as wired and wireless keyboards and mouse, DisplayPort and USB-C type.
The Game Dashboard and Game Optimiser allow users to configure their preferred settings for each game, accompanied by the Game card app for access to content including cloud games.
The webOS Hub also continues to provide entertainment through streaming services and LG Channels. It offers music listening through the Card app home hub as well as features for document handling or video conferencing, accessible via the Home Office card app.
The latest webOS Hub features are expected to be made available first on Acer’s upcoming Nitro GS272U M QHD 180Hz gaming monitor, with more partners expected to adopt the platform in the near future.
