ISE 2022 officially opens its doors in Barcelona

For the first time since Amsterdam 2020, ISE has opened its doors to a full-scale in-person event, making its debut in Barcelona.

Before the ribbon cutting this morning, Mike Blackman held a press conference detailing what to expect from the week. With the show taking up 48,000m2 space over five halls, visitors can expect 844 companies from 43 countries.

From 7am this morning (10th May), the pre-registration numbers were 49,389 with Blackman hoping to reach 50,000.

As ISE makes its debut in Barcelona, Blackman said that he expects this year’s show to bring €250m economic benefit to the city, with this number rising to half a billion by 2024 when the current contract ends.

Following the press conference welcoming members of the press to the show, Blackman was joined by representatives from CEDIA and AVIXA to cut the ribbon, officially opening the show.
