Pioneer is expected to soon release a 4K Blu-ray player, known as the UDP-LX500, following sharing a sneak peak of the product on the manufacturer’s Facebook page.
It was rumoured back in April, but now we finally have the proof: Pioneer is to bring its first new product(s) to the 4K Blu-ray market for 4 years in 2018.
Seen for the first time at a recent Japanese AV event, the manufacturer has seemingly confirmed that UDP-LX500 will be coming to market soon, though other details regarding specs (and crucially, HDR support) are currently scant.
The post on social media by the Japan-based company included a link directing users to a listing including the UDP-LX500 player – suggesting we’re not far off getting our hands on it.

Pioneer’s timely focus on 4K Blu-ray players of course follows the demise of Oppo’s Blu-ray player and hi-fi lines announced back in March.
