Legrand’s Shading and Residential Controls business has announced Charlie Derk, who is already director of product marketing for the QMotion brand, is also now leading the product marketing strategy for Legrand’s luxury residential lighting control brand, Vantage.
With a career spanning 22 year in the luxury residential market, focusing specifically on lighting control and automated shading products, Derk has been instrumental in developing products such as the HomeWorks platform for Lutron Electronics. He was also responsible for bringing wireless control and integrated shading to Lutron.
He joined the Doherty Design Group in 2006 where he collaborated with end users, architects, designers, and builders to design easy-to-use yet sophisticated lighting control and shading systems.
Most recently, he helped to build Crestron Electronics’ shading product portfolio.
“The health and wellness category is experiencing tremendous interest across both the residential and commercial markets, and human-centric lighting and shading solutions are playing a key role,” said Derk.
“Legrand employs some of the brightest product teams in the world, and we are going to leverage the investment that the company has made to reimagine what the next generation of wellness solutions will look like. This will allow our customers to transform the way their end users interact with their home.”
Amy Hahne, vice president and general manager for Legrand’s Shading and Residential Controls business added: “Charlie has been leading the product and marketing efforts for QMotion since 2018. By bringing Vantage under his purview, we are able to better serve our customers by focusing on a complete residential lighting control solution that incorporates both natural and artificial sources.
“combining our luxury lighting and shading brands under one marketing strategy enables us to bring a truly unique experience to our customers and, ultimately, end users. I’m excited to have Charlie leading the way.”
