In response to consumer demand, Legrand has launched a touchscreen that is intuitive and can be easily personalised to each user. The Vantage Equinox 41 offers a discreet 4.3-inch black glass to edge LCD touchscreen and, when linked to the company’s InFusion system, delivers the means to efficiently create flexible, customised spaces—all within a standard single gang back box.
Equinox 41 touchscreens are supplied with 12 pre-programmed widgets for easy control of the most essential functions. These include the ten widgets currently available on Equinox 73 and mobile apps (lighting, scenes, weather, climate, multi-zone audio, multi-zone video, home cinema, cameras, security and pool/spa) and two new widgets for shades and timers.
Alongside the launch of Equinox 41 comes the release of version 3.3 of Design Center (DC), the Vantage installer programming tool. Using DC, Equinox widgets can be automatically populated with information, dramatically simplifying interface programming and providing users with a consistent view of system functions.
“For over 25 years the Vantage range has been renowned for its tailored control and automation of luxury spaces,†says Richard Hayward, lead marketing manager for Legrand’s building automation systems. “We have listened to customer feedback and in response developed an interface which can evolve and adapt to the user’s changing needs and preferences. Equinox 41 users can effortlessly create a personalised environment using simple on-screen tap and swipe navigation—just like using their smartphone.
“Furthermore this experience can be extended beyond the touchscreen using the Equinox tablet and smartphone apps for iOS and Android which have been specifically designed to replicate the look and feel of the touchscreen. This gives the user a consistent, familiar experience across the whole family of devices and apps.â€
Equinox touchscreen and mobile app user interfaces offer extensive options to simplify control. Once configured by an installer, the end-user can personalise or adjust, and save widget settings creating an individual profile dashboard. There is no practical limit to the number of profiles that can be created and each dashboard can be easily accessed through a simple on-screen drop-down.
Equinox 41 follows the release of the Equinox 73 and 40 touchscreens and mobile apps last year and continues Vantage’s expanding line of intuitive in-wall LCD keypads, touchscreens and apps that offer the ultimate user experience in luxury spaces.
