Matrix Voice turns Raspberry Pi into voice recognition system

Following a successful crowdfunding effort on Indiegogo last year, Matrix Voice is now available. It has been described as 'Alexa for Raspberry-Pi', it is a development board with built-in microphones to bring custom voice recognition to any project.

Matrix Voice was built with a mission to give every developer around the world a complete, affordable, and user-friendly tool for simple to complex Internet of Things (IoT) voice app creation.

To simplify hardware application development, Matrix Voice includes the Matrix OS, which allows developers to build hardware applications in just a few lines of code using JavaScript.

The Matrix Voice development board features 7 MEMS microphones connected to a Xilinx Spartan6 FPGA (field-programmable gate array) and 64MB of SDRAM. It also has 64 GPIO expansion pins (including 40 for connection to a Raspberry Pi) and 18 Everloop LEDs.

The Matrix Voice has already been fully funded on Indiegogo, and is available now.
