Naim Audio launches new driver for Control4 integration

Naim Audio has released a dedicated Control4 driver for its range of music-streaming speakers and systems.

Allowing seamless control of Naim products from Control4’s range of touchscreens, remote controls and apps, the new driver enables easy integration for custom installations.

Giving installers the freedom to customise the user experience, the Control4 driver offers two methods of control for a Naim streaming product: one is a media renderer, allowing browsing and playback of music services; and the other is a traditional control method, enabling source switching, volume control and other functions.

Installers are able to use either method or both in a project, allowing for a completely customisable install for the customer.

With connections made over the network, it does not require any special cabling. Both wired and wireless connections can be used, but a wired connection is advised for the best performance.

Currently compatible with the Control4 driver are the Mu-so and Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation wireless speaker family: Uniti Atom, Uniti Star and Uniti Nova streaming systems, as well as the ND5 XS 2, NDX 2 and ND555 dedicated music streaming players.

Other Naim products, including the Uniti Core music server, can also be integrated, offering the ability to rip and store music collections in flawless quality for playback through home installations.

Aiming to add more services in the future, the driver currently supports browsing of TIDAL and Internet Radio. AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in and Spotify Connect features continue to operate as normal, and the Naim App and individual product remote controls can also be used.

The new Naim Control4 driver will be available exclusively to registered Control4 installers, who can download the software as of March from Naim’s development partner, Intrinsic.
