Nortek Control and Nice to become single entity plus additions to leadership team

Smart home and building automation company, Nice has outlined plans to form a single entity with Nortek Control, following its acquisition in October last year, by consolidating its essential operations under Nice.

Throughout this year, Nortek Control will complete a transition to the Nice brand, with 2GIG, ELAN, Linear, Mighty Mule, SpeakerCraft, Proficient, Furman, Panamax, Gefen, Numera, Intellivision, Abode, and HySecurity continuing to go to market as brands of Nice.

In a move to demonstrate that companies are stronger together, the combination will provide partners with access to the entire regional product portfolio. Integrators, dealers and distribution partners will benefit from access to greater opportunities with a broader solutions portfolio of integrated smart and connected products.

“The newly enlarged and strengthened presence of Nice North America further reinforces our commitment to our partners, customers, and the channel,” said Edoardo Malfè, president and CEO of Nice North America. “The expanded portfolio created by our strategic acquisitions enables the delivery of solutions to partners and end users from a single source provider of a full suite of integrated solutions for residential, commercial, industrial and government customers, from consumer DIY to custom and professionally-installed specialised products and high-security applications.”

Luca Longhin, a long-time member of the Nice team, will join Malfè to co-lead Nice North America as its deputy CEO. The pair have together assembled an experience and diverse team to lead the consolidated organisation to achieve growth targets.

The new leadership team includes industry veterans, Paul Williams and Lisa Potok as chief product officer and chief financial officer respectively. Internal promotions within Nice and Nortek Control complete the executive leadership team bringing industry-specific expertise and experience to the table. Amanda Repp will take the newly created role of chief people and diversity officer, while Jim Hardiman will be the general manager of the China Innovation Centre. Jari Niemela was recently announced as chief technology officer. Craig Copley will take the role of chief information officer, Mark Owen Burson is named chief marketing officer and Daniel Schatz will serve as general counsel.
