Showcasing the ultimate in its smart home experience, home automation company, Savant, has built a residential experience centre in Las Vegas.
Unveiled yesterday, the property, known as Vegas Modern 001, demonstrates an advanced smart living ecosystem combined with modern architecture, overlooking the Las Vegas strip.
The facility, which is co-owned by Savant and design-led firm, Blue Heron, is designed to give integrators, customers and partners the opportunity to experience Savant’s home technology in a real home. The 15,000 sqft property was brought to life in partnership with Blue Heron and technology integrator, Eagle Sentry.
Almost all the technology throughout the house is completely hidden so that visitors can see what can be achieved with a focus on aesthetics and design. The technology that is on show is set back in a trough-style cut out in the ceilings or walls.
Lighting
Visitors will be able to experience Savant’s award-winning smart lighting system paired with the latest in tuneable LED lighting and specification-grade fixtures from USAI Lighting. Together with USAI Lighting, the facility demonstrates the most suitable illuminations for each space and scenario using Savant’s Daylight Mode to synchronise lighting colour and temperatures to match the natural light from the sun at any time of the day.
Within this solution, Savant motorised shades, designed in partnership with JGeiger, have also been integrated to complement the natural light in each room. Scenes can be created on the Savant app and saved to any keypad button in the house. The keypads can also be configured to help set the mood, enhancing the entertainment experience to activate full colour lighting.
Sustainability
With sustainability in mind, the property is equipped to deal with any grid outages and fluctuating energy costs, featuring the largest residential solar array in the region, a fully automated power panel, and Savant’s Racepoint microgrid technology. The Savant app tracks daily energy production as well as usage, with a full history log by load type.
Savant energy solutions paired with the vast solar infrastructure can maintain operation of the entire home under normal conditions for up to eight hours, or almost 24 hours is only essential devices are active. Most critically, Savant Energy’s microgrid works day and night to intelligently optimise the consumption of power under all conditions. This results in a comfortable, secure home while maximising efficiency and reducing energy costs.
Home entertainment
Most of the home entertainment is completely hidden from sight. Savant deployed 15 4K video sources distributed to 17 rooms, and an audio system featuring 43 zones of high-resolution digital music powered by over 19,000 watts of amplification, all installed into the home without impeding the décor.
The home showcases Savant’s broad offering of high-performance entertainment products, including audio and video over IP solutions, smart multizone amplifiers with access to popular streaming service providers, architectural loudspeakers, soundbars, subwoofers, and more.
User experience
There is an array of user interface options throughout Vegas Modern 001 to show visitors the multiple control option they have, all designed to deliver a consistent experience. These user interfaces include Savant’s Pro Remotes, touch panels and mobile apps. Every visitor will experience Savant’s scene personalisation and custom dashboards that are designed by each user to bring the smart living experience to life. Users have intuitive control of entertainment, security, lighting, climate, and energy management through Savant’s app.
