At CE Week Sharp introduced their first wave of 2015 entertainment products that will provide consumers more quality high resolution entertainment options for both large screen TVs and high resolution audio.
Continuing to innovate in the high resolution, large screen TV market, the new UD27 line of Sharp AQUOS® 4K Ultra HD LED TVs will be available in both 60†(60.1†diagonal) and 70†(69.5†diagonal) class screen sizes with unique picture quality technologies, a premium design and Sharp’s leading SmartCentral 3.0 Smart TV platform. Sharp is also updating the popular Sharp AQUOS HD series with beautifully redesigned 60†and 70†class models debuting this fall.

The new Sharp AQUOS 4K Ultra HD LED TV represents the state of the art in large screen TVs, combining unbeatable picture quality, a cutting edge smart platform, and gorgeous design. With a native 3840x2160 resolution, the new Sharp AQUOS 4K TVs are expected to feature THX 4K certification for picture quality.* Sharp’s AQUOS 4K Ultra HD UD1 line was the first 4K TV to receive THX certification when introduced in 2013.
The Sharp AQUOS 4K Ultra HD LED TVs will also feature the new SPECTROSâ„¢ Rich Color Display technology, for a 21% wider color spectrum than conventional LED HDTVs for more realistic landscapes, lush nature scenes, and natural skin tones.
This model is also packed with technology to ensure HD content on Sharp’s new 4K looks better than ever. Sharp’s new AquoDimmingâ„¢ technology automatically enhances contrast and detail in HD images, so you never miss a detail, even in dark scenes, while Sharp’s proprietary Revelationâ„¢ Upscaler seamlessly displays images from any HD source at gorgeous UHD resolution.
With HEVC (H.265), the latest encoding technology, the UD27 TV is able to play 4K streaming content from streaming content providers, such as Netflix. All four HDMI® inputs can accept native 4K (3840 x 2160) signals, at up to 60 frames per second (fps) transmission. The Sharp AQUOS UD27 line meets all of the criteria for the updated Ultra HD definition that were announced by CEA this week.
The Sharp AQUOS 4K UD27 line also features Sharp’s new SmartCentralâ„¢ 3.0, which provides a pictorial, smart guide and offers search across live TV and built-in streaming services by title, genre, time and popularity. It’s so intelligent it will even help you discover new content by providing recommendations based on your preferences. The fully redesigned Sharp AQUOS 660 line features an ultra-thin 0.4†bezel, narrow footprint and elegant modern stand.
The new AQUOS HD 660 line with be available this Fall in two of the most popular large TV sizes, 60†and 70†class. Consumers will see the large-screen difference with the 660 line. The 60†TV features 20 percent more screen area than a 55†class TV and the 70†TV offers 14 percent more screen area than a 65†class TV.
