Troubleshooting is defined as the use of a logical, systematic process to efficiently and accurately diagnose and repair electronic system failures. Troubleshooting, like other forms of problem solving, can have more than one process, and those processes can lead to multiple solutions.
This white paper will briefly go through the five steps to troubleshooting and then include examples of how to troubleshoot for the five most common problems with home electronic systems. See CEDIA’s Technical Reference Manual, 2nd Edition for more detailed information regarding troubleshooting.
