British audio start-up Musaic has announced distribution partners in several territories around the world, including France, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong and New Zealand. The smart wireless hi-fi manufacturer has also appointed partners in the Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovenia with more to follow. Musaic will be available in these countries from September. Musaic is touted as the first multi-room audio system to feature both high-resolution audio playback and smart home features. It allows users to enjoy music in multiple rooms in up to 24-bit/192kHz, and is compatible with a range of sources including streaming apps such as Spotify, stored music libraries on phones, tablets NAS drives and servers, as well as built-in Internet radio. Users can also create and control lighting scenes and moods and combine with home automation hubs and apps to create a fully customisable smart home. Musaic was named as a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree in the home audio/video components and accessories category. The Musaic system will include two speaker units at launch—the larger MP10 Music Player and smaller MP5 Music Player. The MPL Music Player, which allows Musaic playback functionality to be added to any stereo system, TV or AV receiver, will be available later in 2015. The start-up is also working on further products and more information about these will be available soon. “We’re excited to announce the first of our distribution partners and we’re really looking forward to working closely with them to build Musaic,” says CEO Matthew Bramble.” We’re also talking to other partners all over the world and will be announcing further distribution arrangements, as well as some other exciting partnerships, in the coming weeks.” www.musaic.com
