Together with its hardware partners, Amazon, DTEN and Facebook’s Portal TV, Zoom has developed a new set of services to improve the working experience for remote workers.
Aimed at people who do not just want to work solely from their laptop, the services are designed to give people more working options within the home environment.
Zoom for Home, launched last July, was the first offering directed towards home workers to help organisations with the transitions to hybrid working. This continued effort, including working with its partners, has progressed the remote working experience further.

Firstly, Amazon Fire TV Cube (2nd gen) now allows users to join Zoom video calls, meaning that workers that sit in the comfort of their living room while accessing the Zoom platform. With a compatible webcam, second-gen Fire TV Cube owners can turn their TV into the meeting device.
Another service now available to Zoom users is the DTEN GO with DTEN Mate, a portable, all-in-one appliance designed to give remote workers flexibility and functionality. The DTEN GO console has four cameras with 160-degrees of coverage and 12 microphones to cover small to medium sized meeting spaces and allows users to turn any screen in their home or office into a ‘Zoom Room’. Paired with the DTEN Mate, a 10” tablet, users can annotate shared content and whiteboard ideas using the touchscreen.
Facebook’s Portal TV now supports Zoom allowing users to attend Zoom meetings and use features such as breakout rooms, screen sharing, and virtual backgrounds. Its smart camera will pan and zoom to ensure the person is always in frame, even if they move around.
