Assisted living project secures extra funding in UK

An assisted living project funded by the British government has been extended.

Technology Enabled Care (TEC) in Wolverhampton is supporting vulnerable adults with a range of project sensor devices and voice activated wireless technologies.

These resources include fall detectors, smart doorbells and speakers, and remote monitoring sensors.

Funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, the programme helps those aged 65 and over with learning or physical complications.

The initiative is supported by the UK government's 5G Innovation Region scheme, which aims to grow economical innovation through 5G.

Since the trial began in September 2024, more than 250 referrals have been made in Wolverhampton, UK.

Having gained more funding to lead the initiative, the TEC project seeks to reduce hospital admissions, streamline carer visits and deliver predictive analytics.
