Two French smart home companies have developed compatibility for smart home heating.
Netatmo, under the Legrand group, works with Somfy’s TaHoma Hub as a long-standing partner.
Somfy is extending its ecosystem to include the Netatmo Smart Thermostat and Radiator Valves, providing users with heating comfort and energy savings.
This compatibility will enable TaHoma users to control their heating in an intuitive way, as well as automate their solar protection based on the home’s temperature.
Alexandre Menu, general manager of Netatmo, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Somfy and offer users even more innovative solutions.
“The compatibility of Netatmo’s Thermostat and Radiator Valves with the Tahoma app marks a major step toward a fully connected home, allowing our users to enjoy more of the benefits of home automation while reducing their energy consumption.
“At Netatmo, we are firmly committed to reducing the energy footprint of our products.
“Every innovation is designed to deliver optimal energy efficiency, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.’
Users will be able to manage their ecosystem from the TaHoma app, using suggested scenes to manage heating: for example, the ‘Arrival’ scene ensures lights are switched on, the alarm is deactivated and the Thermostat shifts to comfort mode upon arrival in the home.
Users can also further automate their solar protection based on the home’s temperature, using the sensor built into Netatmo Thermostats/Radiator Valves.
The shutters close automatically to prevent overheating in the home when the indoor temperature gets too high, reducing the need for air conditioning.
Rodolphe Jacson, vice president connected services at Somfy Group, said: “We believe in interoperability for the benefit of our users.
“Users will now be able to control both their heating and other home devices from a single interface, as well as automate their solar protection based on the temperature of their home, improving their comfort while reducing their energy impact.
“This new functionality is perfectly aligned with Somfy’s commitment to innovative and responsible technological solutions.”
