Nuki, a European supplier of retrofit, smart access solutions, has received an AV security certificate for its Nuki Opener, designed to provide access control to apartment buildings via the Nuki app.
The Austrian based company has had its Nuki Opener rigourously tested by the AV-TEST Institute, successfully passing the tests in all areas. The AV-TEST “Tested Smart Home Product” seal confirms compliance with all safety requirements based on the current test catalogue.
Headquatered in Magdeburg, Germany, the AV-TEST Institute is an independent global provider of IT security and anti virus research. In addition to the Nuki 2.0 Combo and Nuki app, the security experts also reviewed the associated Alexa Custom Skill for Amazon Echo and Nuki passed all points.
“Safety has always been at the core of Nuki’s developments,” said Martin Pansy, CEO of Nuki Home Solutions. “It was clear to us that comfort at the expense of safety cannot exist. Our challenge to date is to combine comfort and safety.
“This also means that we only implement functions when there is no doubt about security. And in order to live up to this claim, we have all our products put through reviews and certifications by external experts.”
Similar to the Nuki Smart Lock, the Opener is a retrofit application that turns intercoms into smart entry systems. The Nuki Opener is connected to the intercom allowing it to trigger the door buzzer when activated.
Users can open the front door directly or remotely through the app, in combination with the Nuki Bridge.
