Alcons Audio continued to solidify its standing in the residential integration space at ISE 2016 with a demo of its portfolio of pro-ribbon loudspeaker systems.
For the first time ever, Alcons set-up a demo room on its stand at the trade show floor.
Tom Back, company managing director explained: “Following the success of our demos at the CEDIA show in October in Dallas USA last year, we thought it would be a great idea to bring the same experience to ISE, to be able to demonstrate people what our pro-ribbon fuzz is all about.”
In a collaboration of different suppliers, the Alcons room featured an audio system set-up in a 13-channel immersive surround configuration: Three (3) Alcons Cinema Reference Monitor System (CRMS) 3-way pro-ribbon systems were used as left, center, right screen channels; Ten (10) CRMSC-SR systems (2” pro-ribbon HF + 6.5” LF) with precisely matched pro-ribbon mid/high frequency transducers were used as surrounds, in top/side/rear and height positions; Two (2) ultra-slim CB151 (15”) and two (2) ultra-slim CB181 (18”) subwoofers were used as LF extensions.
The complete Alcons system was driven by 20 channels of Sentinel amplified loudspeaker controllers and “lossless” digitally fed with AES3 96kHz signal by the Trinnov Altitude 32 processor.
The same processor connected the media player with the Barco Optix Cinemascope projector with 2.37:1 native DLP chip set and up to 4500 lumens output, projecting “wall-to-wall” on the DreamScreen ultra-HD high-gain screen fabric.
Back added: “As always, the quality lies in the detail; By teaming-up with these partners, we were able to arguably offer the best immersive cinematic experience possible; Combined with the special wall and ceiling construction with TexLnt baffles, enabling us to drive HiFi at true concert sound pressure levels, this resulted in many “Best Of Show” appreciations we received from the visitors.”
