Bluesound unveils next gen NODE and POWERNODE

Audio company, Bluesound, has introduced a new generation of its esteemed NODE Wireless Hi-Res Multiroom Music Streamer and POWERNODE Wireless Hi-Res Multiroom Streaming Amplifier.

The new generation of the devices feature upgraded DAC designs, more powerful processors, and touch panel controls with presets and proximity sensors. The POWERNODE has also received substantially more power.

NODE Wireless Hi-Res Multiroom Music Streamer

The Bluesound NODE combines hi-res music streaming with multiroom audio capabilities to create a modern addition to existing hi-fi systems or a favourite set of powered speakers. NODE gives users access to hundreds of internet radio stations, dozens of streaming music services, as well as a personal digital music library. This can all be access through the BluOS Controller app.

A new audiophile-grade DAC design is used improving the performance. The DAC not only supports 24-bit/192kHz audio processing, but also MQA for studio-quality listening. Users can customise their listening preferences in detail through the powerful, user-friendly software features like tone controls and subwoofer crossover optimisation.

A versatile application, the Bluesound NODE is equipped with an array of digital and analogue inputs and outputs. It can be connected through Wi-Fi or ethernet, Apple AirPlay 2, aptX HD Bluetooth, or USB Type A connectors. The NODE now also features an HDMI eARC input on the back panel to keep setup flexible and futureproofed.

The NODE allows users to listen to bit-perfect music away from the hi-fi system as a multiroom hub. The BluOS platform can support up to 64 players, all streaming in 24-bit hi-res audio.

Besides using the BluOS Controller app, control options are aplenty. Touch panel controls give users quick access control like play/pause, track skipping, and volume adjustments. Users can also control the device via voice assistants like Apple’s Siri, Amazon Alexa, or Google Voice. Additionally, they can programme their own IR remote or using the optional Bluesound RC1. The intuitive touch panel control with proximity sensor now features five presets. Advanced controls, including tone controls, are available in the BluOS Controller app.

The NODE can also be integerated into a smart home with full-feature drivers for Lutron, ELAN, RTI, Crestron, and other popular home control systems.

POWERNODE Wireless Multiroom Music Streaming Amplifier

The new generation of the Bluesound POWERNODE combines audiophile-grade componentry and multiroom music capability to create an intuitive ‘just add speaker’ hi-res sound system. The compact and minimalist amplifier features 80 watts per channel of zero-distortion power, tested in real-world listening conditions, not just in a lab.

Its upgraded DAC delivers up to 24-bit/192kHz of hi-res, studio-quality music, including support for FLAC, MQA, and other popular file formats. Again, users can access music through the BluOS Controller app which connects them to popular streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, SiriusXM, and more. Users can also listen to their own music library through Apple AirPlay 2, aptX HD Bluetooth, or even a network-connected drive or USB hard drive.

The POWERNODE amplifier can be placed either freestanding or mounted in an AV rack. It is equipped with an array of digital and analogue inputs and outputs to give users flexibility. The amplifier supports HDMI eARC, dual-band Wi-Fi and Gigabit ethernet, Apple AirPlay 2, aptX HD Bluetooth receiver and transmitter, RCA, Toslink optical, 3.5mm jack, and USB Type A connectors.

With BluOS built-in, homeowners can create a DIY multiroom hi-res audio system through the BluOS Controller app. Additional hands-free controls are available through voice assistants like Siri, Google Voice, or Alexa. It can also integrate into a smart home with full-feature drivers available for Lutron, Crestron, RTI, ELAN and other popular control systems.
