Clearway for improved sound

Chord Company’s highly successful Clearway speaker cable has been given an upgrade to include the company’s recently launched XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) insulation technology.

A direct replacement for Clearway, the new ClearwayX demonstrates a number of sound quality benefits over the original design, using improvements to the critical dielectric (insulation) by upgrading to XLPE. This technology introduces benefits in phase stability over previously used materials.

ClearwayX’s XLPE-insulated conductors are built from multi-strand oxygen-free copper and arranged in a twisted-pair configuration to reduce interference. A layer of soft PVC gives further protection to the two conductors in order to correctly space the shielding in relation to the conductors and to minimise any mechanically induced noise.

Increasing the performance even further, ClearwayX features two contra-wound high-density foil shields that provide a shielding to high frequencies when combined with the twisted-pair configuration.

ClearwayX is available now at £15 p/m.
