Home automation company, Crestron has unveiled its Horizon Thermostat, a new touchscreen smart thermostat, leveraging a two-wire install design that eliminates the need to constantly replace or recharge the battery.
Utilising a more reliable approach, the wired Horizon Thermostat enables constant control of the temperature and humidity throughout the home for a more refined, convenient, and always-working home environment.
Specifically designed for smart homes, the Horizon Thermostat can react to dynamic routines in response to data from onboard temperature, humidity, and proximity sensors. When integrated with the Crestron Home platform, it synchronises with other smart devices such as lighting and shading to ensure optimal comfort, convenience, and energy savings.
Featuring a luxury aesthetic to fit in with modern, high-end décor, the Horizon Thermostat has a high-resolution 3.5” LCD touchscreen display with an auto-adjustable backlight that toggles between day and night mode depending on the time of the day or user preferences.

Its RGB-backlit accent and status lightbar complements the display while the ambient light and proximity sensors ensure the thermostat is always discreet, but visible when it is needed.
Measuring just 124mm wide by 89mm tall, the thermostat comes in white, black, or almond finishes.
The Horizon Thermostat is designed to complement Crestron’s Horizon dimmers, switches, keypads, and receptacles to give a clean and uniform look throughout the home. It sits flush almost flush against the wall thanks to its batteryless design with an ultra-slim, 14mm profile.

Connecting with two wires, the thermostat pairs seamlessly with home Wi-Fi networks. Ideal for new builds, the Horizon Thermostat also supports retrofit applications with no common wire when paired with the Crestron Common Wire Adapter accessory, which is sold separately.
To showcase the product, Crestron will be holding a free webinar on 21 April. Registration for the event is now open.
