Focal has presented a new range for private cinema rooms at ISE, the annual AV show that took place in Barcelona on 4-7 February 2025.
The French audio brand introduces the Cinema LCR, a three-way loudspeaker, and Cinema SUB subwoofer as part of the Utopia Cinema range.
These products offer a complete modular solution for custom systems up to 2153 sq ft in size.
Utopia Cinema features the latest Utopia Main studio monitors, released on 15 January 2025.
Cinema LCR – power and precision
This full-range, high SPL-capacity loudspeaker adapts to optimised listening environments.
Different crossover settings like the 0–30° selector, maximise the performance of central, left or right channels, while speaker drivers offer strong treble, midrange and bass reproduction.
The M-shaped beryllium tweeter delivers transient response and unique treble sound reproduction, improved by a 1" coil for heat dissipation.
The LCR’s speaker driver extends ultra-high response with no distortion, halving THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) to 3kHz using TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) technology and Poron surround.
These features are accompanied by a new 5" M-shaped, W-cone midrange transducer for dynamic range and transparency.
The ‘M’ shape moves in a piston movement, using its shallow depth to create a flat wave.
The product is complete with a 13" high-excursion 'W'-cone woofer housed in a solid cabinet.
Its combination of super-light moving components with flexible surround offers excellent articulation and definition.
Cinema Sub – a match for demanding audio environments
This subwoofer contains two 13” woofers, tuned to 19Hz, for maximum excursion and bass control in the most spacious cinema rooms.
The sound design adapts to wave-forming and bass-management configurations in multi-channel systems.
Its large front laminar port minimises distortion while maximising sound pressure, descending to lower frequencies.
Unlimited modular configurations
Utopia Cinema loudspeakers and subwoofers can be fixed onto or into the wall, positioned horizontally or vertically.
Configurations are limited only by the size of the space in which the solution is integrated.
Cinema LCR and Cinema SUB can also be combined with loudspeakers from the Focal 1000 Series.
