LG starts worldwide rollout of most premium LCD TV lineup from July

LG’s most premium range of LCD TVs, featuring its Quantum Dot NanoCell colour and Mini LED backlight technologies, will begin rolling out to worldwide markets from July.

The new lineup, which promises to deliver deeper blacks, more accurate colour reproduction with greater contrast and brightness, will include the 8K QNED99 and QNED95 series models along with 4K QNED90 series models in screen sizes ranging from 65” to 86”.

Thanks to LG’s Quantum Dot NanoCell colour technology, LG QNED Mini LED aims to greatly improve LCD TV picture quality with rich and accurate colours for immersive viewing. Certified by international product testing agency Intertek for providing 100% colour volume and colour consistency, LG QNED Mini LED TVs also eliminate colour distortion across a wide viewing angle to ensure everyone in the room can enjoy the same premium picture quality no matter where they are sat.

The company is said to have packed smaller LEDs into the backlight compared to other similarly sized TV screens to increase the brightness and dimming zones. Adhering to their phrase that ‘the bigger the screen, the small the detail needs to be’, LG’s 86” 8K TV is backlit by approximately 30,000 LED lights arranged to create about 2,500 local dimming zones to deliver 10 times better contrast ratio that conventional LCD TVs. This also makes images seem more realistic by providing deeper black and greater details within dark areas to create a heightened sense of depth.

Under LG’s commitment to a better tomorrow, the new LG QNED Mini LED TVs have received Eco-Product certification from SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA of Switzerland. The certification is only awarded to products that fulfil SGS requirements to standards that include low environmental impact or recyclability.

LG QNED Mini LED TV will initially be available in North America only, following by additional regions worldwide in the coming weeks.
