NETGEAR debuts router products for home and mobile use

During CES 2021, NETGEAR has introduced its all-purpose Wi-Fi 6E router, the Nighthawk RAXE500 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router, as well as a Wi-Fi 6 mobile wireless routers, the Nighthawk 4G LTE Wi-Fi 6 Router (LAX20), and a new NETGEAR 4G LTE Modem (LM1200).

The company has also announced the worldwide availability of its Nighthawk M5 5G Mobile Router, recognised as CES 2020 Innovation Award Honouree.

Nighthawk RAXE500 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router

With the ongoing global pandemic forcing more of us to stay at home and encouraging home working and learning, there has been an understandable strain on home Wi-Fi networks.

Wi-Fi 6E can resolve crowded Wi-Fi network issues by adding previously unavailable 6GHz Wi-Fi spectrum that can be used to broadcast Wi-Fi signals and connect to more devices with faster speeds and reliability. Before Wi-Fi 6E’s introduction, routers were limited to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The new third 6GHz band will dramatically increase the capacity of networks to support more devices.

Named a CES 2021 Innovations Award Honouree, the new Nighthawk RAXE500 Tri-band Wi-Fi router is designed to provide speeds up to 10.8Gbps with higher capacity, lower latency and the latest WPA3 security, ideal for the new home working, learning and 4K/8K streaming era we have entered.

The Nighthawk RAXE500 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router is expected to be available in North America within Q1 2021 with an MSRP of $599.99. UK and EU launch dates and pricing are yet to be confirmed.

Nighthawk 4G LTE Wi-Fi 6 Router (LAX20)

Again, recognising the new demands for remote working and learning, NETGEAR has unveiled a new solution for at home as well as on the go.

Supporting advanced Wi-Fi 6 networking technology, the LAX20 router delivers 1.8Gbps of high-performance Wi-Fi and improved network capacity to handle a greater number of connected devices on the home network.

Combined with a 4G LTE modem for instances where traditional wired internet options are not available or reliable, the nighthawk LAX20 router provides an alternate mobile internet connectivity option. It is also a good option for those who need internet access for limited time frames at holiday homes or short-term rentals, for example.

The 4G LTE capability gives a reliable connection to those who need to maintain a consistent high-speed connection when wired broadband is not fast enough, unreliable or unavailable entirely.

With it now being considered a necessity to have a consistent and reliable internet connection at all times, the LAX20 router is certified for both AT&T and T-Mobile as well as other major wireless carriers worldwide to ensure internet access even during a network outage with its fail-over capability to seamlessly switch over to LTE when needed.

To keep users safe and secure, the new Nighthawk 4G LTE Wi-Fi 6 Router comes equipped with NETGEAR Armor for advanced cyber threat protection for the home network and all connected devices.

The Nighthawk 4G LTE Wi-Fi 6 Router (LAX20) is now available worldwide with an MSRP of £309 / €329 / $299.99.

NETGEAR 4G LTE Modem (LM1200)

For a more affordable price, the LM1200 modem delivers reliable internet connection via the 4G LTE network when faced with slow internet options (DSL) or the lack of a fixed-line broadband service.

Certified to work with AT&T and T-Mobile at launch, users can get connected using a 4G SIM on the LM1200 and connect to a Wi-Fi Router or Mesh solution for internet connectivity throughout the home.

NETGEAR 4G LTE Modem (LM1200) is currently available in North America with an MSRP of $149.99. It is expected to be available in the rest of the world later this year.

Nighthawk M5 5G Mobile Router

Now available worldwide, the Nighthawk M5 is designed to provide faster internet speeds with low latency via the Wi-Fi 6 network and 5G wireless connectivity. A flexible solution, it can be used on the road or for short vacations to give reliable internet connectivity to multiple devices, including the capability to stream HD video or play online games simultaneously.

It is ideal for remote and mobile workers as it provides a secure, reliable and private Wi-Fi connection and can also be used as an alternative or backup option for home internet with the gigabit Ethernet port and external antenna ports which allow the home user to improve signal reception.

With the option to connect the M5 Mobile Router to an existing home router through the 1Gbps Ethernet port, the Nighthawk M5 brings 5G speeds into a home network and can also be used as a fail-over option for uninterrupted internet.

The router includes a long-lasting lithium-ion battery, which is rated to provide up to 13 hours per charge and can also be removed when used in a stationary location such as a home or office.

The Nighthawk M5 5G Mobile Router is now shipping across Europe, priced at £739 / €799. It is also currently available in North America for $509.99.
