Onkyo expands multi-room audio range

Onkyo has added to its wireless multi-room audio distribution offerings with two newly announced AVRs.

Incorporating FireConnect technology powered by the manufacturer’s Blackfire wireless multi-room system, the TX-NR575E (7.1-channel) and TX-NR474 (5.1-channel) AVRs add to the FireConnect-equipped offerings released in 2016. A firmware update also enables FireConnect functionality across all products.

The recently released models also offer built-in Chromecast, DTS Play-Fi, dual-band 5GHz/2.4GHz WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, allowing homeowners to cast music from a range of smartphones, tablets and PC applications.

Featuring full support on all inputs for HDMI 2.0a & HDCP 2.2 and HDR-10 plus Dolby Vision ‘4K Pass Through’ Support, the TX-NR575E or TX-NR474 receivers feature high-current amplifier stages, powerful enough to drive 4 ohm speaker loads (170w per channel for the TX-NR575E, 135w per channel for the TX-NR474).

In addition to supporting the most popular surround sound modes these AVRs also support Dolby Atmos 3.1.2.

Streaming audio services supported include Spotify, TIDAL and the Amazon Music Service, as well as Airplay and USB devices.
