Optoma launches low-cost 4K 3D projector

Optoma has introduced the UHD51 projector, the first model in its 4K range to offer support Full 3D.

Optoma states that the 2,400 lumen UHD51 projector can display “true 3D content from almost any 3D source,” including 3D Blu-ray players, 3D broadcasting and the latest generation games consoles. High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility and HDCP 2.2 support also features, with audio via built-in stereo speakers and operation as quite as 25dB.

The projector incorporates the manufacturer’s PureMotion frame-interpolation processing, designed to reduce motion blur or image judder, even when watching high-speed content. ‘Amazing Colour’ technology is furthermore on hand to provide a number options for users to choose from. Connectivity options include two HDMI ports, and content can also be streamed via USB.

According to Optoma, the UHD51 is just the start of its home cinema rollout: “We continue to expand our range and offer even more choice and features for film fans to bring that cinema experience to their homes,” said Kishan Mistry, senior product manager at Optoma EMEA.

The UHD51 will retail at £1,499.99 in the UK with pricing dependant on country in Europe.
