Polk Audio launches two flagship soundbar systems

Polk Audio has introduced the new MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR flagship soundbar systems, featuring Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

The compact, high-performance soundbar systems deliver immersive sound thanks to its 11-speaker arrays featuring dedicated centre channels and up-firing height speakers that provides the critical overhead element of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-oriented sound formats. Polk’s 4th generation patented Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) technology is also included, which eliminated interaural crosstalk to deliver an ultra-wide soundstage that expands beyond the soundbar to fill the room.

Both models include a 10” down-firing wireless subwoofer for extended bass response and the MagniFi Max AX SR adds two wireless surround speakers for total immersion. To expand the surround sound capabilities of the MagniFi Max AX, users can add Polk SR2 Wireless Rear Surround Speakers which are available separately.

The two soundbar systems both feature one-touch Movie, TV and Music Modes which will optimise the bass response, clarity and soundstage for the different listening scenarios. Night Mode raises speech and lowers bass for late-night listening. VoiceAdjust technology raises the volume of voices over other soundtrack elements, for enhanced intelligibility. BassAdjust balances the low-end response of the soundbar and subwoofer for seamless bass.

MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR both support Wi-Fi streaming via Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect, or any Works with Alexa-enabled music service as well as Bluetooth.

Setting up the soundbar systems is straightforward thanks to 3-in and 1-out high-speed, high-bandwidth 4K HDMI connectivity and input switching. The soundbars can be connected to gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, streaming boxes, and more. Connection to a TV is possible via HDMI eARC or ARC with the included HDMI cable. An optical input is also included to allow connection to older devices.

A remote is included to control the soundbars but they also work with most TV remotes too. The soundbar has an intuitive front panel OLED display which indicates adjustments and automatically dims when not in us. MagniFi Max AX is also Roku TV-ready for easier configuration and control.

Both available from October, MagniFi Max AX will be priced at £679 / €799 / $799 while the MagniFi Max AX SR will be priced at £769 / €899 / $899.
