QMotion recently expanded their commercial and residential product offerings with new hardwired motor controls and communications applications for its roller shades.
The new offerings have been branded as the Qadvanced Intelligent System Motorized Roller Shade Collection (QIS) and new Qadvanced with ZigBee Home Automation v1.2 battery operated shades with 2-way communication.
The hardwired motor controls interface through leading automation systems, such as Vantage and Control4, or can be stand alone units. Features and accessories include single or dual hardwired switches, multiple power distribution panels, and 2-way communication. QIS Motorized Shades require a power and communication panel that will control up to eight ports for a combination of shades and remotes and the total system can operate as many as 200 shades. The system functions on a 24-volt DC power supply.
Unique to QMotion’s system, the hardwired configuration utilises a standard Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable to connect to both the power and communication panel, which benefits in not having the additional expense of proprietary cabling or two separate cables.
In addition to the QIS Collection, QMotion launched the new Qadvanced with ZigBee Home Automation v1.2 battery operated shades with 2-way communication. Ideal for retrofit installations, the Qadvanced ZigBee HA1.2 shades provide enhanced communication consistency compared to proprietary protocols and come with built in collision avoidance. The QMotion shades will “wake up” at set intervals, thus controlling the battery usage in a highly consistent manner. Adding 2-way communication allows for feedback of the shade position with automation applications. Qadvanced shades with ZigBee HA1.2 have all the exclusive features as the Qadvanced Gen2 shades.
Additionally, the QIS shades and the Qadvanced ZigBee HA1.2 shades use the new QdR wireless remotes using ZigBee communications. Improving signal strength, range and shade battery life, the stylish and smaller remote utilizes five channels for easy programming.
Shades are available in either standard or reverse roll, and numerous options are available for fabrics, fascia and hembars to accentuate home décor.
As with all QMotion’s motorized products, the new QIS Shades and Qadvanced with ZigBee HA1.2 shades are equipped with a patented manual override feature.
