In partnership with Sonance, Sonos has revealed its new collection of installed passive speakers designed to be used with Sonos Amp, the first architectural speaker to be used with a specific amplifier.
The Sonos Architectural by Sonance is the result of a partnership with a goal of creating a speaker that will disappear into any space while providing superior sound, even coverage, high-quality performance and ease of use.
Sonos In-Wall by Sonance and Sonos In-Ceiling by Sonance are available to pre-order on Sonos’ website, with general availability to being on February 26th. General availability for Sonos Outdoor by Sonance will follow in April.
A unique feature of the Sonos Architectural by Sonance is the Trueplay feature. When paired with the Sonos Amp, the In-Wall and In-Ceiling speakers’ hardware activates Trueplay which accounts for the size, construction, and furnishings of the room where the speakers are placed, thus adjusting the EQ automatically for the best quality of sound.
Having personally experienced the Trueplay function, it creates an obvious difference in sound quality and really fills its surroundings, making the room feel more spacious.
Extending its reach, the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance is the first speaker Sonos has made that is designed for outdoor use. Connecting with the Sonos Amp and the other Sonos speakers around the house, audio content can be enjoyed inside or outside with its weatherproof design and its ability to withstand many environmental conditions.

Connecting to the Amp means that all Sonos Architectural by Sonance speakers work together seamlessly. It also includes an app allowing users to stream audio from a variety of streaming services, as well as having AirPlay2 control to make it easier to mirror audio from the iPhone. Software updates are sent out regularly to keep the speakers up to date, and the speaker have the ability to add other Sonos speakers and components to expand setup over time.
A Sonos Amp can power up to three pairs of Sonos Architectural by Sonance speakers and the range features dynamic bass processing to enhance low frequencies for a richer listening experience.

The Sonos In-Ceiling by Sonance and the Sonos In-Wall by Sonance speakers are retailing at £599 a pair, while the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance speaker is £799 per pair. The Sonos Amp is now shipping in Europe and is retailing at £599.
