Karma-AV has announced it has made the SVS 2000 Pro Series of subwoofers available to the UK AV market.
Making up the 2000 Pro Series of subwoofers are the SB-2000 Pro sealed cabinet, the PB-2000 Pro ported cabinet, and the PC-2000 Pro ported cylinder.
Raising performance standards for home subwoofers at its price range, the three new models in the series utilise the innovative technology from the flagship SVS 16-Ultra Series.
Featuring the Sledge STA-550D amplifier, which blends the high current output of discrete MOSFETs with Class D efficiency, the subwoofers deploy 550 watts RMS power with very low distortion through the proprietary amp design. This delivers power on-demand while maintaining precise driver control, allowing the 2000 Pro Series to play effortlessly and accurately at reference levels.
An Analog Devices Audio DSP with 56-bit filtering is used to harness the power of the Sledge amplifier. Its processing capabilities maintain the sound quality by utilising advanced in-room tuning, optimised frequency response curves and powerful DSP controls.
The SVS 2000 Pro subwoofers feature a new proprietary 12-in driver design, comprising of a dual-ferrite magnet motor assembly with long-throw parabolic surround for extreme excursion with room-pressurising SPLs. The rigid, vented aluminium cone, complete with composite fibre dust cap, is built to move very large air volumes.
Fitting well into a smart home, the new series also features convenient control and preset customisation via the SVS subwoofer DSP smartphone app for Apple, Android, Amazon devices. The SVS app originally launched with the flagship SVS 16-Ultra subwoofers, and is able to control volume and allow access to multiple DSP functions and program custom presets for on-touch tuning optimised for music, movies and gaming.
Users can also use the app to adjust crossover frequencies, a three-band parametric EQ, system polarity, room gain, standby mode and factory reset. The subwoofers also have Bluetooth connectivity, allowing full control even when the user is not near it. It also features bi-directional feedback that shows adjustments from the app and the rear panel in real time.
To match the high performance levels, the new subwoofers have enclosures that have an extra-thick MDF front baffle and rigid internal bracing to virtually eliminate colouration, even when the deepest frequencies are played at reference levels.
The UK pricing of the three models range from £899 to £999 depending on model and finish.
