Barco Residential launches Heimdall projectors and DV-LED walls

Barco Residential, a Belgian specialist in home theatre and Direct View LED, displayed a new projector and DV-LED walls at CEDIA Expo 2024.

Projectors to handle different rooms

Heimdall & Heimdall+ are the first of many models in the series to fit a range of home cinemas and are planned for release in Spring 2025. They are available in 16x9 or Cinemascope with a choice of brightness depending on screen size, offering 4,000 lumens from the Heimdall and 6,000 lumens from the Heimdall+.

Nine lenses ranging from ultra short throw to extreme long throw can adapt the Heimdall to different locations. Specialist features include the latest 4K DLP chipset from Texas Instruments, RGB Laser Light Engine for 100% BT2020 colour gamut and HDMITM 2.1 with HDCP 2.3 to ensure compatibility with high resolution rate sources.

High value Direct View LED for home theatre

The Barco Residential NT Series of Direct View LED walls was premiered with a Vali 1.2 162 inch DV-LED in an example of on-site installation known as the Barco Residential white glove service.

The company also featured its TruePix 208 inch Bifrost Native 5K Cinemascope DV-LED wall with a 0.9 pixel pitch.

For all demos Barco Residential used Kaleidescape source content and madVR processing, partnering with different manufacturers to demonstrate how cinema and HiFi can be brought together to innovate home theatre.
