Epson has launched a multipurpose projector with integrated ambient lighting.

According to the electronics specialist, the EF-51 is a leap forward in three-chip (3LCD) technology with the bonus of lamp projection for added atmosphere.

The projector’s imaging and light source technology collaborate to deliver 4K images, while the spatial calibration algorithm instantly adjusts aspect ratio for picture correction.

Lighting, situated underneath the main unit, can be operated via app with a DIY assistant to project custom desktop scenes, different colours and more.

When the projector is on standby, its lighting can be turned on separately.

Sitting on a gimbal stand, the unit offers 180-degree horizontal and 105-degree tilt angles.

Gamers will be pleased to know it supports Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for immersive gaming.

Currently available in China, the projector also showcases Epson’s new light energy circulation system, which guides light distribution to the LCD panel to improve energy use by 20%.
