UK distributor, Sound Design Distribution has announced the availability of Lumin’s P1 Mini streamer/DAC/preamp in the UK.
The P1 Mini builds on the success of the multi-award-winning Lumin P1 by including as much of its audiophile design and user flexibility as possible in a more compact chassis.
Like the P1, the Mini is designed to be used as a streamer, a DAC, a pre-amplifier, or all three.
Joining a stereo analogue input, digital inputs include USB (up to native DSD512), optical/SPDIF (up to 192/24 with DoP) and HDMI 2.0 (with 4K passthrough), while digital outputs include USB (with native DSD512 support), BNC SPDIF (PCM 44.1kHz-192kHz, 16-24-bit DSD64), and HDMI, supporting PCM 2.0 audio, 4K video passthrough and ARC. The P1 Mini also offers DSD128 and PCM 384kHz up-sampling options for all files, while a dual-network interface manages switching between the P1 Mini’s Ethernet and SFP fibre ports, providing complete isolation from network noise.
Fed by a new internal toroidal power supply and governed by a Leedh Processing lossless digital volume control, the P1 Mini’s analogue output stage is similar to that of the P1, involving a fully balanced layout featuring dual ES9028PRO SABRE DACs supported by dual Femto crystal oscillators and Lumin’s proprietary FPGA clock distribution system, which delivers clean audio signal quality to XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs.
The P1 Mini supports many file formats, including DSF (DSD), DFF (DSD), DoP (DSD), FLAC, Apple Lossless (ALAC), WAV, AIFF MQA, MP3, AAC, as well as streaming services including OpenHome, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, FLAC Lossless Radio, TuneIn Radio, Apple AirPlay 2, Plex, Gapless Playback, On-Device Playlist, and Multi-Room (Songcast).
Users have control over playback and settings, input selection, per-input volume memory and custom input labels through the Lumin app or a sleek new Roon-ready handheld remote. The new infrared receiver built into the Lumin P1 Mini is also compatible with universal remotes, phones and automation systems.
Lumin’s P1 Mini is available in natural or black annodised aluminium with a typical retail price of £4,195.
