Optoma has launched a new projection range aiming to eliminate the need for lamps entirely.
The Photon Life series succeeds several of the manufacturer’s lamp-based projectors, with three models set to roll out fully by the end of 2025.
The projectors will take the place of predecessors like the HD146X, UHD35 and UHD38X models as a more sustainable alternative: users will no longer need to consider bulb replacements for one.
All three projectors in the Photon Life series use RGB LED technology, with a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours.
Oliver Blundell, product manager for home and mainstream at Optoma, said: “We’re making big-screen entertainment more accessible than ever, without the complexity.
“They combine stunning image quality with true plug-and-play simplicity.”
At the lowest price point, the PH31 offers 1500 ISO lumens of brightness, alongside DCI-P3 colour accuracy and integrated 5W speakers.
Moving upwards into the range, the PK31 can project 4K UHD images with HDR support and deliver brighter colours with 900 ISO lumens.
Said to be the “ultimate expression of Photon Life” is the PK32. The brightest of the Photon projectors, it comes with a built-in 4LED light source and offers 1,100 ISO lumens as well as 95% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.
