Rithum has launched a new Video Intercom solution, combining Audio Intercom and Video Streaming capabilities.
As part of this launch, the smart home control company introduces the Audio Intercom feature as standard with Rithum Switch Pro.
This cutting-edge functionality allows users to accept peer to peer SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) calls with bidirectional audio from any compatible door intercom.
Following this, Rithum will introduce the Video Streaming plugin enabling RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) h.264/h.265 video streaming.
The Video Intercom solution enables the Rithum Switch Pro to function as a complete intercom panel.
The combined Video Intercom solution supports SIP, RTSP, and other industry standards for broad compatibility with intercom systems.
The RTSP video stream can originate from an external CCTV camera rather than the intercom itself, making it highly flexible for a variety of setups.
These features have already been successfully tested with leading intercom brands such as 2N and Doorbird.
Any door intercom that supports P2P SIP calling can now connect directly to Rithum Switch Pro, allowing users to communicate from their wall-mounted touchscreen controller.
Ryan Ovens, CEO of Rithum, said: “With the introduction of our Video Intercom solution, we’re providing a seamless, all-in-one communication tool that works with a broad range of intercom systems, eliminating the need for a dedicated intercom touchscreen by integrating this functionality into a device that already does much more.”
