ViewSonic releases compact 1080p projector

ViewSonic has announced a new compact projector called the M10 that features a triple laser light source, offers full HD visuals with support for HDR/HLG content, and comes with built-in Harman Kardon sound.

Instead of shining a single blue laser through a colour wheel like other laser projectors, ViewSonic has opted to aim for colour richness by employing individual red, green and blue lasers that merge in a single compact unit to cover the complete spectrum of the BT.2020 color gamut.

The projector is also reported to put out 2,200 lumens of brightness and throws full HD images at up to 180 diagonal inches from over 15 feet away from the display surface. At 8.7 ft  away users can enjoy 100-in of projection.

The M10 makes use of time-of-flight sensing for autofocus, and auto horizontal/vertical keystone correction is also built in for setup ease. Wi-Fi is onboard for casting content from a smart device or other media source, and there's HDMI and USB for plugging in and powering a streaming device from the likes of Apple, Roku and Amazon.

It features a 7-W Harman Kardon Cube speaker or can pair with wireless headphones over Bluetooth 4.2. The M10 measures 7.95 x 6.5 x 3.6-in  and is described as a portable projector. The M10 comes with a Bluetooth remote with backlighting that activates when lifted.
