As with most other events this year, the 2020 CEDIA Awards will not take place in its usual fashion; instead, celebrations will take place on Thursday 8 October 2020 virtually.
The event will celebrate the finest work of CEDIA members in, what promises to be, a well-produced and compelling presentation for the industry.
Winners and finalists will be chosen for CEDIA’s three regional awards programmes – Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific with three jubilant ceremonies.
“The 2020 CEDIA Awards will deliver three highly-engaging celebrations befitting the world-class work completed by our extraordinary members,” said Giles Sutton, CEDIA’s senior vice president of Industry Engagement.
“As unusual as this year has been, the CEDIA Awards will maintain its long tradition of not only providing a massive platform for premier projects from the industry’s finest integrators and products from top technology manufacturers, but it will also offer the camaraderie and fun attendees have come to love each year – only this year, from the comforts of wherever you are.
“The efforts behind the scenes to bring the show together have been remarkable and we look forward to sharing in the experience.”
Project categories include: Integrated Home; Media Room; Home Cinema; Innovative Solution or System; Showroom; Auto, Marine, or Aircraft; and Multiple Dwelling Unit Design.
Judges will determine cost categories based on all completed entries, which have also been categorised based on their region.
As well as the individual projects from CEDIA member integrators who are deemed finalists through the rigorous, industry expert-led judging process, winners in the Hardware and Software Product categories will also be honoured.
Of course, this year’s event will be very different to what we are used to, but CEDIA has designed the celebrations to engage participants and global audience members in ways that go beyond awards presentations. It will include video elements featuring CEDIA Award winners, industry heavyweights offering sage advice, and regionally-focused CEDIA Awards Happy Hours, featuring one-of-a-kind craft cocktails designed specifically for the events. This will all play prominently in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific programmes.
