Crestron has announced the release of its Amazon Alexa smart home skill in the UK and Germany.
Crestron joins Control4 in home automation providers offering official skills in Europe, with owner of Crestron systems now able to use voice commands to have greater control over their home.
The integration allows users to provide instructions to Alexa including telling the smart assistant that the temperature is “too cold” or that the lighting is “too bright” for their system to react accordingly.
“Crestron customers expect a truly integrated home technology experience,” said John Clancy, VP of Residential Systems at Crestron. “We’ve been collaborating very closely with Amazon Alexa engineers to make sure we offer an uncompromising voice control experience that is every bit as seamless and satisfying as tapping a button on a beautiful Crestron touch screen, remote control, or designer keypad.
He added: “You can ask Alexa to set the mood for dinner, or to play a movie in the bedroom, or let her know it’s too cold in the bathroom. Just say the word and your Crestron system responds immediately.”
