A cloud-to-cloud integration between DoorBird and Homematic IP was announced yesterday.
The networked access control will be gradually released from May 2025 with the 3.5.12 app update from smart home specialist, Homematic IP.
Owned by German company eQ-3 AG, Homematic IP sends push notifications from the door and receives both audio and video signals.
Ralph Bertelt, CEO of eQ-3 AG: "The entire communication between Homematic IP and DoorBird is fully encrypted and complies with the latest security standards, thereby preventing information from falling into the wrong hands.
“The Homematic IP Cloud is also hosted exclusively on servers in Germany and is therefore subject to the highest security standards.”
As well as app, the platform also offers integration with DoorBird on its Access Point and Home Control Unit.
As a partner product, the DoorBird video door station can be combined with other components like a Homematic IP door lock drive.
Furthermore, users can use the DoorBird device's integrated switching relay, motion detector, doorbell button and DoorBird device’s access module for intelligent automation.
Bertelt added that the Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE) certified the specialist’s systems in protocol, IT and data security for the eighth time in 2024.
