HEA Distribution acquires Flexson, returning Sonos accessory brand to founders

A UK audio distributor has acquired Sonos accessory brand Flexson, returning it to its founding team.

Known for its floor stands, TV brackets and specialist mounts, Flexson comes under the ownership of HEA Distribution as its first independently owned brand alongside sister company SoundXtra.

The HEA team says the move places equal emphasis on custom install (CI), commercial and consumer requirements.

To support the acquisition from Exertis UK, the distributor has appointed two new team members with respective backgrounds in the Sonos ecosystem and global sales.

Mark Glen, pictured below, steps into the director of own brands role, with almost two decades of experience in Sonos and independent brand management - including an association with Flexson and SoundXtra.

He’s joined by Rob Neil as international sales director of own brands, specialising in scaling global sales via distribution partnerships.

Ross Durr, co-founder of Flexson and director of HEA Distribution, said: “With Flexson back in the hands of people who helped build it, we are able to refocus entirely on what Sonos users and installers genuinely need.

“We are excited to be moving the brand forward once again, and to continue developing products that help people extract even greater value from their Sonos systems."

The HEA team said it anticipates further innovation and new product development as part of this new direction.
