Monitor Audio restructure sees new CEO & operations director

Monitor Audio Group has announced a new senior management structure within the audio company which sees Robert Barford being promoted to CEO and Richard Page appointed as operations director.

Previously the director of finance and operations, Barford said: “Since joining the group five years ago, I have seen the company develop its dealer base, brands, products and people. We work with exceptional business partners and have supported and recruited some of the best talent in the industry. The group has a bright future and I am proud to have the opportunity as CEO to lead the team, work with our partners, and build on our success.”

His promotion means that he will have ultimate responsibility for the operational management of the company from 1 April 2022.

“I would like to congratulate Robert on this well-deserved promotion,” added Andrew Flatt, executive chairman of Monitor Audio. “Having invested heavily in the product pipeline, the group has grown to over 100 employees with 40 staff working in product development. In line with best corporate governance, this means now is the time to split the CEO and chairman roles. I look forward to working actively with Robert and the management team on developing and implementing the group’s strategy over the coming years.”

Alongside the Barford’s promotion, the company has also appointed a new operations director. Richard Page will take on the role as of 7 February 2022.

Talking about Page joining the group, Barford said: “I am thrilled that we have been able to attract someone of Richard’s calibre to the group. Richard brings 30+ years of experience and a wealth of supply chain, procurement and operational knowledge to our industry and will be a fantastic addition to the team.”

The group has also announced the retirement of Annette Callum, export admin manager, and Lee Manning, production director, later this year.

“With 70 years of service at Monitor Audio between them, Annette and Lee are highly respected members of staff who have been instrumental in the success of the group,” added Flatt. “We would like to express our sincere thanks for their commitment to the company over the years and wish them well in their retirement.”
