Nice S.p.A. has announced that it is has acquired home automation and IoT specialist Fibaro for a sum close to €63 million ($73 million).
Italy-based Nice Group is going hard for the smart home market following its purchase of ZigBee/Z-Wave home control manufacturer and DIY security dabbler, Abode, in April of this year.
The move sees the manufacturer of motorised gates, garage doors, solar shading systems and parking systems bring more Z-Wave-based IoT and DIY devices into its portfolio – evidently the area of the market where it clearly sees potential for the most growth.
Nice is expected to have a strong presence at CEDIA again this year following its appearance in 2017.
