Nortek Security & Control merges with Core Brands

Nortek Security & Control LLC (NSC) and Core Brands have announced a strategic merger which will see the two companies combine their expertise in smart home and security markets going forward.

The combined company, now operating as NSC, is headed by President Mike O’Neal and states that it remains “dedicated to developing and manufacturing the control, security, access, entertainment, and personal digital health solutions” for the residential and commercial industries.

With the move, NSC broadens the range of integrated systems it can offer its customerbase – with collective offerings now including 2GIG security and the ELAN control platform.

“The combination of NSC and Core Brands helps us serve our customers with an unparalleled suite of solutions for the residential and commercial control, security, entertainment, access and personal wellness markets,” commented O’Neal.

“Joe Roberts and I share a strong commitment to our customers, which will guide the innovation we develop into our products, services and programs.”

Core Brands President Joe Roberts now assumes responsibility for driving product vision across NSC as executive vice president of marketing & innovation.

Roberts said: “The market is demanding a broader range of solutions that work better together across product categories, and this is a major focus of our innovation.”

“In particular, our 2GIG and ELAN integration creates opportunities that perfectly address the connected smart home market and the evolving needs of our customers.”

The company will highlight its latest connected smart home, security, and personal wellness products at booth 40921 at CES 2018, taking place from 9 to 12 January, 2018 at the Sands Expo Centre in Las Vegas.
