Orange has announced a Connected Home service using ULE technology to allow its customers in France to manage their automated homes.
By using ULE technology, the Connected Home service will be available on Livebox from launch without the need for any additional equipment. The latest Livebox is already installed in almost three million homes across France and this service will be available at no extra cost.
Orange announced its membership of the ULE Alliance at the annual DECT Forum and ULE Alliance meeting in Nuremburg following the decisions to focus on ULE technology to manage the connectivity of devices within smart homes.
This service, which will be available in Spring, will allow users to manage connected devices in their homes through a mobile app or through the Orange future voice assistant, Djingo.
Alongside this launch, a range of ULE-compatible devices will also be unveiled and marketed under the Orange name. Developed in partnership with Deutsche Telekom, the range includes a movement detector, a smart plug, a smart light bulb and a door or window-opening sensor.
The Connected Home service will be available in France from Spring 2019.
