PMC has revealed the expansion of its business by becoming the UK distributor for US loudspeaker brand, Martin Logan.
Well-known for its electrostatic panel designs, Martin Logan is a highly respected loudspeaker company founded in 1980 in Kansas. Currently being distributed to over 50 countries, the brand is considered as one of the top companies for outstanding audio performance – something I can vouch for after having a demo experience at the PMC Biggleswade HQ yesterday.
Ian Sutton, divisional director commented on the creation of PMC Distribution UK: “The expansion of PMC’s own product portfolio, across loudspeakers and amplifiers, plus the distribution of Bryston electronics and recent addition of AVM, necessitated a separation of the PMC manufacturing and sales divisions in the UK. It enables us to maintain and expand the focus on our home market, meeting the specific needs of the retail and installation sectors through the infrastructure of a dedicated distribution business.”
With the announcement of the Martin Logan partnership, PMC will commence operations by implementing a three-stage introduction programme. The first stage will be to strengthen the presence of the flagship Masterpiece series electrostatic loudspeakers in the UK. The company will look into the existing sales channels and appoint new dealers. Some existing dealers will be reviewed where necessary.
Following the first step, PMC Distribution UK will turn its attention to the Martin Logan custom installation and SLM lifestyle models. PMC is already active in this sector, producing the PMC wafer series for the CI market, and Martin Logan’s in-wall, on-wall and in-ceiling speakers are a complementary addition to PMC’s offerings.
Finally, the Martin Logan Motion Series will be introduced, including the state-of-the-art BalancedForce subwoofers featuring ARC room optimisation technology.
Sutton shares his thoughts on the partnership with Martin Logan: “The changing market in the UK, and move towards high-end custom installations, meant we needed to expand our offering in this critical market. Martin Logan, while known most famously for its flat panels, has a very strong and extensive range of lifestyle active subwoofers and installation speakers and is the perfect fit with our other brands and own brand offering.”
The UK market will be further supported with a new PMS website and UK focused websites for each brand, with a comprehensive partner support section. The secure login-only area for authorised UK retailers will give access to product service information, images, logos, artwork, literature, technical information and product manuals. The UK sales team will also have instant access to a direct feedback system, enabling the relevant department within the PMC to offer support and advice as required.
