Organisers of Smart Home for Assisted Living, which was due to take place at the NEC Birmingham this week, have decided to postpone the show due to coronavirus concerns.
New dates for the show have now been announced as 9 and 10 November 2020. The event will take place at the NEC Birmingham, as originally planned. Complimentary tickets are now available.
Having been closely monitoring updates on the spread of the virus, organisers made the decision to postpone the event based around the fact that the majority of visitors to the show are vulnerable to contracting the virus.
In a statement, organisers said: “Like many large event organisers, the health and safety of our visitors, exhibitors and staff is always our number one priority. This is particularly pertinent in the care and health sector communities that Smart Home for Assisted Living brings together.
“Many of our visitors are, or are on the frontline supporting, the most vulnerable in society. This combined with the fact that health and social care workers will be critical to ongoing containment and management strategies, means that we have taken the decision to reschedule Smart Home for Assisted Living to later in the year.”
Postponing the show also means other events held alongside it are also being postponed, including Naidex, Dementia, Care & Nursing Home Expo, Home Care Expo, Care Tech Live, European Neuro Convention, Medical Imaging Convention, Oncology Convention and AI&ML Convention.
